Critical to the effectiveness of Ambient Therapy is how the musical content and acoustic perceptions are delivered. The Ambient Therapy System is a proprietary music delivery system developed by Ambience Medical to ensure dramatic performance and – more importantly – provide ease and simplicity of usage.

While containing the latest in technology, the primary goal in designing the system was to create a self-contained unit which offered total user-friendliness and eliminated all operational complexities. The result is a unique surround sound playback system with its own library of musical selections that are easily accessed and played.

Operating and running the unit is straightforward; rather than an array of bewildering controls the unit relies on only a few touch pad buttons. Everything from the size, lighting and placement of the controls incorporates practical suggestions from nurses and medical staff, making nighttime usage as easy as during the day.

The surround sound speakers supporting the system are placed within the ceiling tiles of a room, dispersing the sound evenly around a typical patient bed. The unit is completely portable, needing only to be “plugged in” to a central power source.

All service and support of the unit is provided by Ambience Medical. This includes a special feature of updating – through automatic downloads – new programs into the unit’s library. With each unit having a distinctive “address”, content updates or modifications becomes automatic and non-intrusive.

The Ambient Therapy System, with its patent protection pending, will soon be available nationwide. Offered by Ambience Medical through a cost-effective program, the system is an essential component in the design of progressive medical environments.
